1998 NCAA Championship Kentucky vs. Utah

Great Revisit!
I loved reliving this game and remembering how it felt to watch those underdog, scrapping guys take the championship. I appreciated the extra minutes surrounding the game that were included in this DVD. Kudos to Tubby! He may be the only coach in the country who could have done it with this group of players.

Seoul Raiders

Great Sequel
I was a fan of Tokyo Raiders, and was quite eager for a sequel, but didn't think there would be one. I was wrong on this count. I was also wrong that it would not be the kind of sequel that is much better than the original.

Like Tokyo Raiders, SEOUL RAIDERS has a plot that makes about as much sense as that of MISSION:IMPOSSIBLE. Something to do with Owen lee (Richie Jen)an American-born Chinese CIA agent who steals some counterfeit money plates and flees to Seoul, Korea, and this necessitates that Wushu master/ secret agentLam (Tony Leung) join forces with porfessional thief/babe J.J. (Shu Qi)call upon his three Korean angels (Choi Yeo-Jin, Cho Soo-Hyn, and Cho Han-Na)to get the plates back.

Like any Jackie Chan movie, SEOUL RAIDERS is made to be a comedy-dominated martial arts action flick, and there are several entertaining fights. The opening fight with Tony Leung and Shu Qi playing keep-away with some evil-doers statr off the movie with a bang. One very short...

Great Movie!!!
This movie was great! I get to watch movies at work. This movie has quite a few funny moments. This movie passed the time quite well, I borrowed this movie from my library and it was the best movie I have seen in a month! You would be a fool not to at least watch it once! It was so good I added it to my wish list, and when I get paid I am TOTALLY BUYING THIS MOVIE!!! The story was great, it kept me interested and would not let go until it ended! The move is only in cantonese and mandarin audio, but it has english subtitles, but is well worth it!!

Entertaining film
It's a Chinese action film that of course seems as a fantasy. However, it's entertaining and girls are pretty good looking to watch.

Murder, Spies & Voting Lies (the Clint Curtis story)

Sopranos meets the White House
After watching this excellent documentary, which cleverly unfolds like a mystery novel, I wondered if Ms. Sharaf (director) had ever been challenged by the Bush administration to keep it hush-hush. They don't like this kind of exposure. I'm thrilled she had the guts to put it on film. You can see how nervous Clint Curtis is during his interviews. It's no wonder the truth about the murder has never come out of the closet. Just as it's no wonder they had to rig the voting system to get Bush into office. Our government has been so corrupt for too long! Watch this movie!

Real Life Taut Political Thriller
This highly recommended documentary is a riveting yet detailed account of how voting fraud hijacked democracy. Watching it, we were slackjawed in disbelief, but the journalism carefully, transparently, and thoroughly built an unshirkable and undeniable case. This documentary is so well crafted by its filmmakers, it is able to deliver on its promise to tell a story of Murder, Spies, and Voting Lies. Bravo! A tour de force! MK

A Courageous Hero
Clint Curtis , Brad Freidman and Patty Scharaf are national heros to whom we owe a debit of gratitude. Clint and Brad worked for the last 8 yrs to make the national media admit and bring attention to the fact that vote rigging software stole America and our democracy. Ms Sharaf's daring and courageous documentary reveals the truth of what happened to our country. Clint, Brad and Ms Sharaf's determination and dedication to get the truth out worked. This election cycle, Lou Dobbs among many other radio and TV hosts, discussed the dangers of electronic voting machines and the possibility that the election could be stolen once again. With so many people paying attention, the 2008 Presidential election was the fairest election in over 8 years. Congratulations to all three heros who helped to return our democracy. M Ward

Gangland: The Complete Season One

Gangland, a Deviant Culture in Living Color Including Blood
"Gangland: The Complete Season One (2007)", 4 disc set, A&E Home Video, Dist. by NEWVIDEO. ISBN 1-4229-0949-2. English, Color, 611 min.

This 4 disc DVD set provides more than 611 min. (extras)of over 10 hrs. of color video, mostly excellent quality footage, with narrated soundtrack and much original recordings of gang members, police and victims interacting. Each disc contains 3 to 4 topics dealing with Gangland culture and these include American Gangster Harlem, You Rat-You Die (MS-13), Mexican Mafia & LA County, Hells Angels, Race Wars (Latino vs Afro-American, Kings of New York, Chicago's Black P. Stones, Skinheads, Chicago's Ganster City, La Nuestra (Blood In-Blood Out), Basic Training (USAF skills), Blood Oath (Racism), Root of All Evil (100,000 member MS-13 in America).

Overall, this compendium of gangland footage is especially meaningful if you've had basic introduction into the culture of gangs via more recent publications as "A World of Gangs", The...

Sort of like passing by a car wreck, you have to look
The series is interesting in that it shows a life that most viewers have little idea about. The interviews with involved members, both inside and outside of prison paints a grim picture of the lifestyle that is tough to live but easy to glamorize.

When I watched the first season DVDs over a weekend I really began to notice the repeated use of some stock footage and audio. I realize that in a "documentary" style often they have to stretch still photos into moving images and use sound effects to liven things up but I think some are overused. I don't remember it being bothersome when episodes are watched individually over a longer period of time however so depending on your viewing habits you might not be bothered.

Many of the gangs are simply copy-cats of each other and therefore some of the episodes became rather blahh as a result. I would have rather had an episode or two on generic gang topics like how they acquire weapons and drugs to perhaps tags and...

The human-garbage in your neighborhood...
I saw some episodes of this on The History Channel...
Then I found the whole series on DVD.

...This is a collection of short documentaries featuring all manner of criminal gangs that infect OUR NATION like a foul disease. The presentation is a bit flambouyant and sensational, but its all based on ACTUAL EVENTS in the news. There is a plentiful array of actual film of these dregs, ...mostly surveillance-camera or police-footage, ...or the even film taken from the gangs as evidence. Yes, they are stupid enough to film their own crimes!

I follow the news rather closely, wherever I've lived, and the SAME type of people stand out REPEATEDLY, week after week. Its no longer "shocking", in regard to the particularly vile crimes they commit, but its STILL outrageous. Most people tend to ignore it, ...and thats stupid. Be aware of whats moving into YOUR neighborhood.

In general, the "people" featured here are just tattoo-encrusted ghetto-garbage and...

1990 NCAA Championship UNLV vs. Duke

Missing a part of the game
This video is missing a small part of the 2nd half. I was very disappointed because this was the best beat down in the history of the final game.

Worth it for Runnin' Reb fans
During the game portion, their are no (really, NO!) ccmmercials and few breaks. The game shows every play, but not in a rushed way. It is a quality presentation.

Duke was overmatched that night. They were young; their time would come (many more times).

UNLV was loaded with talent and experience: In the 1991 NBA draft, Larry Johnson was the #1 overall; Stacey Augmon #9 overall; Greg Anthony #12 overall, and George Ackles went in the second round. That's quite a testament to the talent on that team. Hunt, a super college guard, was not drafted, but he was the MVP of the Finals that year.

The next 2 years the won the NCAA Championship, and Coach Mike Krzyzewski now has 4 titles to Jerry Tarkanian's 1 title.

Duke never lead in this game, and UNLV put on quite a show.

That UNLV team is still one of my favorite teams to ever win the title.

Shrek the Third [Blu-ray]

Third Time's Still Pretty Charming
"Shrek The Third" might lack the originality of the original film, but it's still a very good movie. Shrek is once again put into an uncomfortable position, except this time around he isn't trying to win Fiona's heart or impress her parents. This time he's been chosen to replace his father-in-law as the king of Far Far Away. He quickly finds out that there is one other potential heir to the throne called Arthur. Once he figures out where Arthur is located, Shrek, Donkey, and Puss set out to find the boy and convince him that he should be king. Before leaving, however, Shrek is weighed down with more pressure when he finds out that he'll soon be a dad. While Shrek's away, Charming gathers up all of fairytale-dom's meanest villains (including Captain Hook and the Wicked Witch from "Snow White") and stages a successful coup to become ruler of Far Far Away. Using Fiona and her friends as bait, Charming awaits Shrek's return in order to finish him off and become the rightful...

a good film--but not great and not as good as the first two were (three and one half stars)
Shrek The Third is a good movie with incredible animation. I marvel at that animation! However, the plot is just average and it didn't really hold my attention the way I hoped it would. I think after this Dreamworks needs to move on to new develop new characters in new films; but only time will tell if Dreamworks wants to milk this theme yet again. The voiceovers are very well done and the DVD has a plethora of extras.

When the action begins, Shrek (Mike Myers) and his wife Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) are filling in for the ailing King Harold (John Cleese). Unfortunately, King Harold passes away and, with his dying wish, names Shrek as the rightful heir to the throne. This doesn't sit too well with Shrek who has been suffering from public relations embarrassment to public relations embarrassment as he launches ships with such strength that the ship blows a hole and sinks--and more. King Harold says, just before he dies, that the only other heir to the throne would be a...

worst sequal ever
First off - Rent this movie before you buy.
It is not like 1 or 2. Number 3 is not even funny. I swear they just made this movie for the heck of it without putting any effort into making it. One part which is comfusing is that fiona is pregnant and she is fighing bad guys. What? Pregnant people dont do that. And the fact that when the king died all they said was "he is dead". They could have made it funny by saying "he croaked". Anyway this is all I have to say. I hope you like this movie more than I did. I doubt you will like it more than I did.
3.99 to rent this movie on demand
88 minutes to watch movie- waste of time
